Wild Bill Hickok Dagger Knife With Sheath

DAGGER & SHEATH, with "Wild Bill Hickok 1837-1876" and a picture of Wild Bill on both sides of the sheath. The dagger handle has 2 guns inside a cowboy hat  and a badge under that at the top of the handle and the top of the blade has "Stainless" on one side and "China" on the other. The dagger measures 11 1/2 inches long and with the sheath is 2 inches wide, the blade is 5 3/4 inches long and 1 inch wide. Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer described Wild Bill as "a strange character, just the one which a novelist might gloat over, a Plainsman in every sense of the word, whose skill in the use of the rifle and pistol was unerring." Many others besides Custer regarded Wild Bill as the best pistol shot on the Plains–a man whose quick-witted reaction to danger enabled him, according to one account, "to draw and fire his Colt Navy revolvers before the average man had time to think about it."
