The pocket watch fob was one of the most fashionable and useful accessories in America through out the turn of the 20th Century. Pocket watches generally had an attached chain with a medallion or charm to allow them to be secured to a waistcoat, lapel, or belt loop, and to prevent them from being dropped. This chain or ornament is known as a “fob”.
