Tombstone Arizona Territory Sheriff Badge
ARIZONA TERRITORY BADGE, a solid copper double die struck with silver-plated antique finish Sheriff Tombstone Arizona Territory badge that is a cut out star in a circle. The badge measures 1 3/4 inches wide and has the clasp on the back to pin to a shirt. This badge was worn by Sheriff John Behan. In 1881, Cochise County was formed from the eastern part of Pima County, with Tombstone as the county seat. That is why this unusual Sheriff's badge reads Tombstone. Behan and the Earps were on opposite sides in the Cochise County War.
