To Toilets 1927 Paper Sign Print L&N Railroad
SIGN a nice reprint of an old sign. The sign is a heavy paper stock and reads "To Toilets", "Sept. 6, 1927" and "L&N" with a hand pointing the direction. The sign measures about 11 1/4 inches across and is about 4 3/4 inches wide. The paper has browning for an aged appearance. In Western Europe, the first public toilets appeared in the 13th century. They were usually haphazard affairs, wooden boards over a canal or offal pits that would periodically be raked by crews of very hardy, or very desperate men.
