BADGE, a solid copper double die struck with silver-plated antique finish Sing Sing Prison Officer NY badge that is a shield with really nice details. The badge measures 2 inches wide and has the clasp on the back to pin to a shirt.  Ossining's original name, "Sing Sing", came from the Native American Sinck Sinck (Sint Sinck) tribe from whom the land was purchased in 1685. Sing Sing houses approximately 1,700 prisoners.  There are plans to convert the original 1825 cell block into a museum.
