Large Glass Advertising Counter Jar Dixie
COUNTER JAR, that is a replica of an advertising piece. The jar is a large heavy clear glass counter jar with glass lid & plastic seal. The front has "Dixie Nut & Confections" with a clown on top and "Best on Earth" and "Atlanta, Georgia". The counter jar measures 9 1/2 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches wide. The history of candy dates back to the first man. The cave man created the idea of candy by eating honey combs and honey. In 1200 B.C. the first cocoa to be grown was grown by the Olmec Indians. Then the Maya natives used cocoa for money. In Maya tombs from 250 B.C they found artifacts of a chocolate drink.
