ADVERTISING SIGN, a nice reprint Hires Root Beer advertisement. A soda bottle shaped ad with a metal hole at the top for hanging. It is a heavy stock paper and reads "Hires Since 1876 Root Beer with Roots, Barks, Herbs." It measures 23 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches wide. Charles Hires first sold root beer to the public in 1876. Charles Hires was a Philadelphia pharmacist who according to his biography discovered a recipe for a delicious herbal tea while on his honeymoon.
