Small Glass Minnow Fishing Trap

GLASS MINNOW TRAP, a neat antique replica fishing accessory. This is a really nice glass minnow trap that has a banded wire frame with a screw style lid. The glass has a minnow raised or impressed on the side as well as "Montana Bait Co. Rock Creek, MT" on it. It measures 9 inches long, 6 inches tall and 5 inches wide (the mouth for the fish to swim into tapers from 1 1/2 inches to 1 1/4 inches). Due to the easily damaged glass, few original minnow traps survive today. Those made by small firms did not sell well and disappeared from the market after very short exposures. The combination of their delicate nature and very short lived production, makes finding an original rare and exceptional.
