Dixie Boy Black Americana Paper Stand-Up Display Sign

PAPER STAND-UP, it is a cut-out known as "Dixie Boy". The display is a young man sitting with a watermelon and wearing a straw hat. The stand-up measures 12 14 inches tall when flat and 9 1/2 inches across. They have some flaws and browning for an antique appearance. Watermelons are thought to be native of the Kalahari desert in Africa, due to David Livingstone describing them as "abundant" in that region. One can find, still today, plants of what is believed to be the ancestor of watermelons, called Tsamma melon in that region.
