Coon Chicken Inn Restaurant Salad Plate

PLATE, a replica of the 1920's Coon Chicken Inn Restaurant.  The salad plate has the restaurant logo in the center that is the grinning caricature of a black man. The back is marked with "O.P.CO. Syracuse -China-P-3". It measures 8 inches across. The Coon Chicken Inn was a restaurant chain in the late 1920's through the 1950's. The Coon Chicken Inn restaurants were memorable for their doorways a massive caricature of a winking and grinning black man. His teeth have “Coon Chicken Inn” spelled out between large red lips. The doorway was through the middle of the mouth.
