MECHANICAL BANK, that is an antique replica of John Harper Co. Giant On Tower mechanical bank. The bank has a giant, which looks like a mongolian holding a club in a castle tower or turret. When the giant is straight on the tower the coin slot is closed, but when the giant leans over or is pushed forward the slot is opened so coins can drop in. The bottom is stamped "John Harper Co. 1892". The bank measures 8 1/2 inches tall and is 3 1/4 inches across. Most cast iron toys appeared relatively late on the American scene.
