Smoking Sambo Cigarette Firecracker Paper Stand-up Display

PAPER STAND-UP, it is a cut-out of "Smoking Sambo". The display has a star cut in the mouth for a cigarette or a firecracker to be placed in and held. The stand-up measures 9 3/4 inches tall and 5 inches across. The word "Sambo" refers to Black men that were considered very happy, usually laughing, lazy, irresponsible or carefree. This depiction of black people was displayed in films in the 1900's and became the norm for advertising in later years.
