Billy The Kid Outlaw Gun Knife & Badge Box Set
KNIFE IN BOX SET, with a badge and holster. The gun knife has "William H. Bonney "Billy the Kid"" on the handle and the blade has "Billy The Kid 1859-1881" and "Stainless". The knife measures 7 inches long and 3 inches tall with the blade being 3/4 of an inch wide. The badge is a 5 point star and reads "Sheriff Lincoln County" and measures 3 inches. There is a black faux leather holster for the gun knife. It also has a short history of Billy's life in the lid and the outside has the reward poster for Billy the Kid. Governor Lew Wallace who is also the author of the novel "Ben Hur" offered a $500 reward to anyone who would capture William H. Bonney, aka "Billy The Kid", and deliver him to any sheriff in New Mexico. In 1880, Lincoln County elected Sheriff Pat Garrett and a posse trapped "Billy The Kid" and four companions in a hut at Stinking Springs. After a three day siege, the gang was captured on December 23, 1880.
