Old Tucson Studios Bringing The Western Magic Back
Old Tucson Studios has been the host to many of our favorite western cowboy actors and movies. John Wayne in Rio Bravo, Paul Newman in Hombre, Clint Eastwood in The Outlaw Josey Wales, Kurt Russel and Val Kilmer in Tombstone just to name a few.
If you have been to Old Tucson Studios in the last few years perhaps you felt it had lost a bit of its spark. Since the fire in 1995 things just haven't felt quite the same there. However, this summer things have been changing at the old west town. It has been under construction with plans to "Fill the empty space in town square with movie quality sets that bring the magic back." this according to Old Tucson CEO and General Manager Pete Mangelsdorf.
We at the Back In Time Trading Post welcome this development and hope that they are able to achieve this goal. As once the western movie town is back up and in magical condition we can hopefully look forward to more western movies to come out of the Hollywood movie industry. As this genre is sorely lacking about the old west and more great cowboy characters, such as McClintock! are needed for us to enjoy.
