John Henry "Doc" Holliday everyones favorite Huckleberry has his 158th birthday today
John Henry "Doc" Holliday everyones favorite Huckleberry has his 158 birthday coming up on August 14th. Doc hails from Georgia where his father was a pharmacist, then a wealthy planter, lawyer, a Major in the Confederacy, a Mayor and much more. Trying to live up to his father's traditions John Henry became a dentist. He soon found out that he had tuberculosis, which caused trouble in his profession when wracked with a coughing spell. Doc moved to the West when it was agreed he would live longer in a dryer climate. There he learned to use his gun and became a Faro dealer, gambler and gunfighter. Many times this last occupation caused him to be run out of town, it was on an occasion such as this that he found himself on the way to Tombstone and the gunfight at the OK Corral that made him a legend.
